Excuse me, Peter, but I don't think it's fair to describe the absence of built-in wireless as YouView 'getting round' anything, as it's up to them what they want to include in their spec. On wireless, this is a semi-mandatory part of the base specifications that they have now got round by allowing makers to specify powerline adapters to connect to a wifi router in another room. It uses a 5v input from a supplied mains adapter with a USB socket but the rear USB socket on the Humax has power going to it so to neaten the installation I use that (about the only thing owners can currently use it for!). I got one for £15 from eBay but the seller (Currys/PC World Outlet store) sold out on the particular "buy it now" I used. I actually use a TPLink Travel router in "repeater" mode to achieve this - it works better than using ethernet direct to my Viginmedia Superhub 1 though that is due to the quality of the VM Superhub rather than anything else. It is possible to use a "wifi bridge" in place of a USB dongle. ![]() The necessary firmware has not yet been implemented on either of the makes now available to use the USB sockets for anything other than reinstalling the software after a major crash (there is a special "engineer's" menu to do this on the Humax) Originally they were given the option of building in wifi or using a USB wifi dongle (as do Humax's HD/R Fox T2 boxes). ![]() Can you identify which channels you are missing? This could be a result of temporary weather conditions on the transmitter being on low power for a while during maintenance. ![]() It sounds like your box has skipped a mux (frequency).
